Personal Watercraft Course
(Jetski Proficiency)
This course provides a practical and enjoyable introduction to riding a jetski safely and responsibly. It is ideal for both beginners and those with some experience who want to improve their skills and confidence on the water.
The course covers launch and recovery, correct handling techniques, passage planning, and good decision making while at sea. You will learn both low and high speed riding skills, including safe manoeuvring, turning, stopping, and controlling the craft in different conditions. Essential safety information is included, along with collision avoidance, awareness of other water users, and orientation at sea.
You are welcome to bring your own jetski if you have one, allowing you to train on your own craft but we have jetskis for hire - subject to availability.
Perfect for up to two people per jetski, each training session is conducted individually to ensure personalised instruction. If you’re a solo adventurer, simply book your spot alongside other course participants or we’ll find a training buddy for you.

Powerboat Level 1
Provides a practical introduction to boat handling and safety, ideal for beginners and those with little or no previous experience. It focuses on building confidence on the water while learning the essential skills needed to operate a powerboat safely and responsibly.
The course covers key boating techniques, basic manoeuvring at low and moderate speeds, steering, stopping, and coming alongside. You will also learn the basic rules of the road, and develop awareness of your surroundings on the water.
The course introduces the use of safety equipment, such as lifejackets and emergency procedures, along with basic theory covering navigation marks, weather awareness. Participants will have a solid foundation in powerboat operation and be able to assist safely and competently as a crew member.

Powerboat Level 2
Provides the essential skills and background knowledge needed to become a competent and confident powerboat driver. It is the qualification required to apply for the International Certificate of Competence (ICC) and is widely recognised in the UK and abroad.
No previous experience is necessary and you do not need to have completed Powerboat Level 1 to take this course, making it suitable for complete beginners as well as those wishing to improve and formalise their skills.
The course focuses on practical boat handling and seamanship, including low-speed close-quarters manoeuvring, coming alongside, and man overboard recovery and an introduction to driving at planing speed, safe turning and boat control, along with collision regulations and basic navigation to ensure safe operation around other vessels.
All the training is completed on our top of the range RIBs with Sat Nav & brand new engines.

1:1 DIRECT ASSESSMENT
on your Vessel
The 1:1 Direct Assessment on your own vessel is ideal for experienced boaters who wish to gain their qualification without attending a full training course. This assessment takes place on your own boat, in familiar surroundings, and is tailored to your vessel and usual cruising area.
You will be assessed on practical boat handling, safety awareness, navigation, collision regulations, and general seamanship, low speed close quarters handling, man overboard recovery, an introduction to driving at planing speed, and collision regulations. The session is focused on confirming your competence rather than teaching from scratch, making it perfect for confident skippers who want to formalise their experience and gain a recognised qualification.
Your boat must meet the RYA standards, have been regularly maintained, comprehensively insured and fully functioning.

SRC VHF Radio Course
The SRC VHF Radio Course is an essential one-day course that teaches you how to use a marine VHF radio correctly, safely, and with confidence. It is a vital qualification for anyone going to sea, whether for leisure or professional use, and is required by law when operating a marine radio on board.
You will learn how to make routine calls, emergency and distress calls, and how to communicate effectively with coastguard services and other vessels. The course also covers radio procedures, correct use of channels, and good communication practice at sea.
Training includes the use of real radio equipment, followed by a short written exam and a practical assessment to gain the official RYA SRC certificate.
The exam is currently £76 and is charged separately by the RYA.
